ZINGY GINGER ENERGY KICK: 4 EASONS YOU SHOULD GET MORE GINGER IN YOUR LIFEYou Should Get More Ginger In Your Life

Ginger is a powerful punchy ingredient, featured in all Flawsome! sustainable health shots, selected for its ancient health-boosting properties, it’s spicy taste and nutritional components!

As early as 2000 years ago, people in Asia, the Middle East and India were using ginger as a stomach settler and digestion aid. These days, scientists and nutritionists have studied ginger and confirmed its nutritional qualities, digestive abilities and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s even suggested that ginger can support recovery from coughs and colds, soothe aches and pains, and reduce tiredness.

HOW CAN GINGER GIVE ME A HEALTH KICK?

As we’ve mentioned, ginger is a powerful ancient health aid! This is how a bit of ginger every day may benefit your health…

AID DIGESTION: Ginger is known as a common remedy to help with digestion and nausea. But, this natural remedy isn’t just a household myth, ginger has been proven to stimulate the digestive enzymes that help move food through the body, which can prevent or alleviate bloating and indigestion.

REDUCE INFLAMMATION: The intensity of ginger comes from its natural oils, the most potent being gingerol, which has anti-inflammatory properties. This means any inflammation in the body, including in the stomach, gut, joints and muscles, can potentially be soothed with a daily dose of ginger.

SUPPORT THE IMMUNE SYSTEM: Ginger is a superfood! It has naturally high levels of antioxidants, so can support your body’s immune health by fighting toxins that enter the body.

REDUCE TIREDNESS: Ginger is a natural energy booster and can give you the kick you’re looking for by helping to improve blood circulation and balance blood sugars. Need a caffeine-free pick me up? Ginger is the new go-to.

GINGER FRESHER FOR LONGER

We get it, ginger can be one of those foods that we buy for one particular recipe, then gets left in the fridge screaming to be used, but *not quite* making the cut. The good news is we have some hacks that make ginger last longer while we work it into our diet!

1. Store ginger in an airtight bag in the fridge. Squeeze the air out of the bag before sealing. This will keep ginger fresher by up to 6 weeks!

2. Cut, grate or mince ginger and freeze in an ice cube tray. Transfer the frozen cubes into a freezer bag. Use the frozen ginger cubes when needed.

TIPS FOR PREPARING GINGER

Some of the best, most nutritional parts of ginger are close to the skin! Instead of peeling or slicing the skin off, gently scrape it off with a spoon!

 WHY DOES GINGER GET WASTED?

Flawsome! sustainable health shots are made with wonky and surplus ginger that would have otherwise gone to waste! The ginger you see in the supermarket is already wonky looking, but the ginger we use is even wonkier! When ginger is transported, it can become wrinkly and soft, too wrinkly and too soft for the supermarkets, so they take the ginger that looks the best and the rest becomes surplus waste, even though it still tastes great and is perfect for use! We take this surplus and save it from waste, pressing it into our sustainable health shots. Less waste, great taste!

Get a daily dose of ginger with our ginger shots.
